Times Museum in Guangzhou hosted the exhibition "One Step Forward, Two Steps Back—Us and Institution/Us as Institution."
Curated by Biljana Ciric, the exhibition featured the work of Southeast Asian and Chinese artists, exploring the differing institutional practices governing the production and criticism of art in the region. more
Dr. Gunnar B. Kvaran, director of Norway’s Astrup Fearnley Museet, will curate the Biennale de Lyon.
The Biennale, which lasts from September 13, 2013 to January 5, 2014, will display the work of over 70 artists and aims to promote the creation and dissemination of new artwork under Kvaran’s “narrative” structure and acquires special attention from LEAP. more

The exhibition’s theme “Climate Theatre” was inspired by a World War I-era scheme to utilize more than 60,000 people to analyse global weather. more
The everyday and the core – Lin Xue’s untitled drawings
The esoteric work of reclusive artist Lin Xue received attention and praise from the international art community at the 55th Venice Biennale. Lin, a Chinese artist originally from Fujian province, creates ink drawings of flora and fauna. more
The 5th Auckland Triennal
The New Zealand triennial was open to visitors from May 10 to August 11, 2013. Curated by Hou Hanru around the theme “If you were to live here…”, the show featured works from more than 35 New Zealand and international artists displayed across eight venues. more

Manifesta 10 will be held in State Hermitage Museum
Berlin based curator Kasper König has been selected as Chief Curator of Manifesta 10 to be hosted in St. Petersburg, Russian Federation. The exhibition and program will take place 28 June – 31 October, 2014.
Festival of collectors in National Centre for Contemporary Arts (NCCA)
The 7th Contemporary Art Collections Festival will take place in Moscow between August 3 and October 5, 2013, as part of the contemporary art exhibition series “Collections”. The festival will display private, corporate, and public collections of contemporary art, demonstrating collectors’ personal views on contemporary art practices, as well as a rare opportunity to see works by famous artists from private collections and museum holdings that are seldom on public display.
The Art Moscow fair's budget is cut by one third
30 galleries will participate in the 27th Art Moscow Fair which will be held in September in the Central House of Artists within a new format. Vasili Bychkov, the director of the art fair, said that the budget needs to be cut by one third due to the damage caused by the previous fairs.

Olga Kroytor was lying in a field in a small grave under thick glass completely naked. It was her “No name” performance, which she enchanted to make people stop and think about beauty and meaning of life.
The one and only Russian magazine on contemporary art - Artchronika - shuts down
While circulation of printed magazine discontinued, its Internet-based version had not shut down but maintained to operate entirely online.
